Faith in God Night

In April, our Primary had a Faith in God night to help the older kids pass off some the requirements for their Faith in God award.  We had four stations set up and they rotated in groups to each station.  We had a service area where they helped tie a quilt, they put together a family home evening lesson packet to teach about the first vision, they learned to conduct a song, and they played an Articles of Faith game.

I was in charge of the Articles of Faith game and made it like Jeopardy.  It turned out super cute and  I used a lot of questions from this blog which cut way down on the time it took me to put it together.  We played boys against girls and continued the tally of points throughout the night.  At the very end we came back together to finish off the game.  The kids were so excited to answer the questions!  It was great to see their enthusiasm for the Articles of Faith.  As a follow up to continue to encourage memorizing these, we have a chart in our Primary closet and the kids can pass off 1 article every week (except fast Sunday) after church.  If they get it perfect they can get a piece of candy.  Again, the enthusiasm is great!  The kids quickly stack their chairs and come over to pass off their Article of Faith for the week.

Adam used his FHE packet that he made and gave us a nice lesson on the first vision this week.  It was definitely good practice for him to teach.  We have a ways to go, but will be continuing to have him prepare and teach the lessons as missionary preparation.

The Faith in God night was a simply planned activity but I have already seen great things happening one month later because of it.

What a fun activity. I shared your Articles of Faith idea with our Primary President. :)
