Since we're on the birthday loop, I should post about our littlest guy's birthday. Calvin Michael turned two on February 6th. It really is hard to believe that my baby is two, and yet he's getting to be such a big boy and learning new things everyday. Since his birthday fell on our busiest day of the week with the two girls in gymnastics, Adam at chess followed by Cub Scouts, and Mike out of town, we decided to celebrate his birthday on the weekend. We had Mike's parents and Matt & Erin's family join us for a little celebration.
Some of Calvin's favorites at 2 are: fruit, fruit-snacks, little raisin boxes, popcorn, a milk sippy, his blanket, his tiger Hobbes, cars- any kind will do, movies- especially Baby Signing Time and Baby Einstein, playing games on my iphone, wrestling with his brother, and reading books together. He is a busy boy but very compassionate. If someone is sad he worries about them and tries to hug and kiss them. He loves to snuggle, is a great sleeper both at night and for his nap, and is continually making messes. We are still working on his speech. He understands everything we say and "says" a lot of words but he is difficult to understand so we are trying to get him to enunciation more. We are also teaching him some simple sign language to help with his communication. Calvin has been a wonderful addition to our family and I love to see each family member love him in their own ways. Sometimes I just want to pause my kids at certain ages and Calvin at two is one of those. I love you my sweet baby boy!

This post made me a bit melancholy. Especially your last couple lines. Calvin is so much a part of your world and him yours. My fourth little boy (now grown), just spent the evening with us and he has his own world now. It seems like such a short time ago he was only two. I remember those busy days driving stars across Poway to everyone's events. :) You are def. in the busy mom stage of life.
so stinkin' cute. happy birthday to calvin :)
Can't believe how big he is getting!! SO CUTE!
