For Anna's 7th birthday she wanted an American Girl Doll. We talked for months leading up to her birthday about how American Girl Dolls are very expensive and if she were to get a doll she wouldn't be able to have a party. She decided that it was worth it and choose the doll. Grandma Morris was in town so she joined us for the celebration. The three of us drove down to the Mall of America to pick out her perfect doll. Anna quickly chose the doll she wanted and then proceeded to walk around the entire store to choose the perfect outfit (compliments of Grandma) for her doll. We arranged to have lunch at the bistro there. It was a dream come true for Anna. Everything was in pink and tailored just for little girls. When the waiter asked Anna what her doll's name was she immediately said, "Lyla." Welcome to the family Lyla!
As Anna carried Lyla out to the car with their matching tiaras she was beaming. Anna later commented that this was the best birthday ever!
