While Grandma was here we introduced her to the Minnesota State Fair. It was nice to have an extra adult around since Mike was only to stay part of the day with us. We had fun but it was sure hot. Grandma said she hadn't been that hot since visiting Taiwan a few years ago. Now that we're into winter I wouldn't mind a little heat on a day like today with a high of 18 degrees.
We did have a miracle at the fair this year. Mike lost his cell phone and after retracting his steps as best he could we decided it was a loss. He had to go home to finish some work part way through the day, and when he got home there was a message telling us where it had been turned in. He was able to call me and I picked it up before we left the fair. There are still some honest people out there for which we are grateful.
Camille with a sheep
Calvin petting a newborn goat. He loved seeing all the animals.
Enjoying a moment in the shade with our bucket of french fries and cookies & milk.
Adam loved the fries. One year when he was little he dropped the bucket of fries and was so disappointed.
Camille and Calvin loved the cookies and milk. The all-you-can-drink milk stand is still a $1 a cup. When Mike was a kid it used to be a quarter.
Anna and Grandma on the skyride
Checking out some cool wood carvings
My little farm hands
Camille on a tractor
I think we get a picture with this stand every year.
And of course we have to see the giant pumpkins every year.
