14 Miles

14 Miles! That's how far we biked on Memorial Day with the family in tow.

I was especially impressed with Adam since this was his first time doing the whole ride by himself. Anna rode behind me on the tag-a-long and ended up being a net positive overall. Sometimes the tag-a-long yanks you around in the front so I felt a little unstable but on some of the big hills I could feel a little extra push from behind. Camille and Cousin Ellie rode in the trailer behind Mike. Cool Aunt Erin was great at encouraging Adam to keep pedaling and playing games to see how fast he could go.

We are lucky to have a fabulous trail system close by. So on Monday we packed up the fam and rode over the Coon Rapids Dam (across the Mississippi River) for a picnic lunch at a park. After a nice lunch and some fun we started out heading south and then west over highway 610. We made a short stop at Dairy Queen for some cold treats before pedaling the last 3 miles along the trails to home. After starting out biking again after the picnic Adam said, "My legs are tired after one minute of biking." We had already gone 7 miles but still had 7 more to go! I bribed him by saying he could pick out any treat at Dairy Queen. He made it, was a great sport, and loved his ice cream!

Fun day! Ha Ha that picture of the babies asleep is priceless. They worked hard on that bike hike! Way to go Adam, biking all the way. He looked flushed in that picture.
