The North Shore

We visited the north shore of Lake Superior not Hawaii.  Although the lake is so huge (largest freshwater lake in the world by surface area) it feels like you are at the ocean, it even has waves.  We originally had this planned as a camping trip but because of our state government shutdown the state parks were closed including our campsite.  So instead we booked a room at the AmericaInn in Silver Bay and had a very relaxing "camping" experience complete with a pool, water slides, and a yummy breakfast I didn't have to cook.  Luckily for us by the weekend the government was back in business and we were able to visit a few of the beautiful state parks on the North Shore.  More posts about those coming soon...
